The Arakan Army (AA) confirmed in a statement that Myanmar military airstrikes on Monday killed and injured some of its soldiers, and caused massive damages to its camp on the Thai-Myanmar border.

The Arakan Army (AA) confirmed in a statement that Myanmar military airstrikes on Monday killed and injured some of its soldiers, and caused massive damages to its camp on the Thai-Myanmar border.
The Arakan Army said that at 12:25 p.m. on Monday, two fighter jets launched attacks on its camp, located within territory controlled by Brigade 5 of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) in Kayin State.
The regime’s airstrikes destroyed a hospital, clinic, sewing factory, and some other buildings at the camp.
The two fighter jets reportedly briefly entered Thailand’s airspace after conducting the airstrikes.
Myanmar’s military and the Arakan Army have largely observed an informal ceasefire since November 2020, following two years of often-intense fighting.
Tensions between the two sides have escalated in recent weeks, however, with analysts warning that fighting could break out in Arakan State at any time.
