A Myanmar military jet strafed near a junta tactical command base in Nonebu, northern Paletwa Township, Chin State, on Tuesday morning following the Arakan Army’s seizure of a base there.
Some junta bases in Paletwa also fired random shots including artillery.
The AA occupied the Nonebu tactical command on Sunday night after 27 consecutive days of fighting. Junta troops defended with heavy artillery and air support, in vain.
Some junta bases in Buthidaung, Rathedaung, Minbya, Mrauk-U, Ann and Myebon townships fired shots and artillery shells as of 8 a.m. Tuesday, said the AA. Junta warplanes and warships also fired shots and artillery shells, it added.
The regime and the Brotherhood Alliance held a meeting arranged by Beijing, junta spokesman Major-General Zaw Min Tun said Monday.
The fighting has not deescalated, however, according to the Brotherhood Alliance.
