A former village administration member was allegedly shot dead by the AA in Myebon Township, the Commander-in-Chief Office reported on Friday.

A former village administration member was allegedly shot dead by the AA in Myebon Township, the Commander-in-Chief Office reported on Friday.
Two men in masks shot at U Maung Tin, former head of a hundred households in San Nyin village, while he was sleeping, the incident happened at about 9 PM, the announcement said.
The DMG contacted U Mya Than, vice speaker of Rakhine State Hluttaw and MP for Myebon Township constituency (2), to seek comment about the incident, he said no one could identify the attackers.
“It happened on Wednesday night. I asked my acquaintance about the case, he told me that a novitiation ceremony was held near the victim’s house. Villagers heard the sound of gunshots. But, no one saw the attackers. So, we cannot say exactly who killed him,” he said.
The DMG asked the AA’s spokesperson Khine Thukha, he said the attackers would not be from the AA.
“Since the incident happened in Myebon Township, it could not be an attack by of our people, because AA members don’t dwell that area. Only Bama military is positioned there,” he said.
U Maung Tin was found with bullet wounds to his right temple, left ear, both hands and left thigh, and he died on the spot, according to the Tatmadaw’s announcement.
