Kyauktan shooting victim died at Yangon hospital
One of 8 detained villagers who was injured in the shooting at Kyauktan village died at Yangon’s North Okkalapa Hospital during medical treatment, according to his family.

One of 8 detained villagers who was injured in the shooting at Kyauktan village died at Yangon’s North Okkalapa Hospital during medical treatment, according to his family.
He was transferred to the hospital from Sittwe hospital on May 12 because his injuries were very serious.
U Aung Linn Kyaw, 38, died at around 4 p.m. on May 14, said U Maung Thein Win, one of his family members said.
“He died from a gunshot wound in his right arm. The bullet went through his arm from the right side to the left. We reached Yangon on May 12. His body will be cremated tomorrow,” he said.
Gunfire broke out on May 2 when the Tatmadaw interrogated 275 men from Kyauktan village in Rathedaung Township since April 30, six detained villagers were killed and eight other men were injured.
