Villagers make request to remove artillery shells
Artillery shells that landed in a village during the skirmish between the Tatmadaw and the AA on 30 June near Minthartaung village in Kyauktaw Township, made villagers anxious about their safety.

Artillery shells that landed in a village during the skirmish between the Tatmadaw and the AA on 30 June near Minthartaung village in Kyauktaw Township, made villagers anxious about their safety.
An artillery shell landed in the compound of a house in Minthartaung village. So, the residents evacuated their home immediately.
“We are afraid of staying in our home because we do not know when the shell will explode. So, we have to stay in other houses. We want authorities to remove the explosive devices,” said Ko Tun Aye Maung, the owner of the house.
Currently, the shell is fenced in and covered with grass.
“We are worried that the artillery shell may detonate if it is set off, there will be a lot of damage and potential casualties”, a villager U Oo Hla Maung said.
The Tatmadaw and the AA are fighting these days in Kyauktaw, Buthidaung and Rathedaung Townships, the number of IDPs has reached nearly 50,000.
