Members of the Hindu community in Arakan State celebrated the Holi Festival over three days in a township under the control of the Arakan Army (AA).
The festival was held from 2 to 4 March 2026.
Hindu devotees said Holi symbolizes the victory of good over evil and the triumph of righteousness (Dharma) over unrighteousness (Adharma). A central feature of the celebration is the smearing of colored powders on one another’s faces as a gesture of love and harmony.
Approximately 800 Hindu residents from across Arakan State attended the event. Officials from the Arakan Army were also present.
The celebration included the chanting of religious scriptures (Pathana), traditional dances, and communal feasts shared among participants.
