The Chin Brotherhood, an ethnic alliance of six anti-regime resistance groups based in Chin State, said it would cooperate with the Arakan Army (AA) in eliminating the dictatorship in Myanmar.
The alliance sent a message to the AA on Wednesday congratulating the ethnic Arakanese armed group on the 15th anniversary of its founding.
The alliance vowed to work together with the AA in securing national equality and self-determination, and in reciprocally protecting the interests of Arakanese and Chin people.
The Chin Brotherhood is made up of the Zomi Federal Union, Chin National Organization, Chin National Council (Mindat), Maraland Territorial Council, Chin Defense Force (Kanpetlet) and Chinland Defense Force (Matupi) Brigade 1.
The AA has achieved a major milestone on its 15th anniversary in 2024, the Chin Brotherhood said, adding that the achievements are a testament to the AA’s relentless efforts as well as its brave, wise and precise leadership.
The Chin Brotherhood said it is particularly proud of the AA for the challenges it has overcome on its Way of Rakhita over the past 15 years.
The AA has seized Pauktaw, Ponnagyun, Rathedaung, Kyauktaw, Mrauk-U, Minbya, Myebon and Ramree townships in Arakan State and Paletwa Township in neighbouring Chin State since renewed fighting began in November.
