AA seizes hilltop junta base in Ann Twsp
The AA has been attacking junta positions in Ann Township, where the Myanmar military’s Western Command headquarters is based, since March 24.

The Arakkha Army (AA) has seized the Myanmar regime’s Sui Chaung hilltop tactical command base in Arakan State’s Ann Township after about a month of fighting.
The offensive was launched on March 24, and the base fell on April 26, said a source. “The regime suffered heavy casualties, and some junta soldiers fled to other bases,” he said.
The AA has been attacking junta positions in Ann Township, where the Myanmar military’s Western Command headquarters is based, since March 24.
With more than 200 junta troops deployed there, Sui Chaung is one of the junta’s key bases in Ann Township.
“There were clashes daily. There was fighting on the Minbu-Ann road today, and the regime carried out air and artillery strikes,” said an Ann resident.
Since the fighting erupted in Ann, the regime has imposed travel restrictions and tight checks on people leaving and entering the town. Residents are therefore facing shortages of food and medicines.
