Motorcycle taxi drivers arrested for transporting three Muslim girls from Bangladeshi refugee camp
Three 15-year-old girls were reportedly arrested by the No. 1 Anti-Trafficking Police Force on October 24 along with two motorcycle taxi drivers for allegedly illegally entering Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, from a refugee camp in Bangladesh.

Three 15-year-old girls were reportedly arrested by the No. 1 Anti-Trafficking Police Force on October 24 along with two motorcycle taxi drivers for allegedly illegally entering Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, from a refugee camp in Bangladesh.
The reported illegal entrants were arrested on the road near Bo Hmue village in Myoma Kanyintan ward of Maungdaw town, an official from the No. 1 Anti-Trafficking Police Force (Maungdaw) told DMG.
“According to a tipoff, three girls travelling to Buthidaung from Maungdaw on two motorbikes were arrested near Bo Hmue village in Myoma Ka Kanyintan ward in Maungdaw at about 8 a.m. on October 24,” he said.
The parents of the three teens lived in Maungdaw Township, and the trio was brought to Maungdaw by boat via a human smuggler from Bangladesh at around 11 p.m. on October 23 to send them to Malaysia, according to a police report.
The three young women were arrested along with two motorcycle taxi drivers on their way to Buthidaung from Maungdaw on two motorbikes, on October 24.
