RCSS addresses war and peace in Shan State, nationwide
The RCSS issued its lament in an announcement accompanying the Shan ethnic armed group’s biannual meeting on Monday at its headquarters in Loi Tai Leng, southern Shan State.

The Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) said that in the three-plus years since the military coup, Myanmar’s people have been facing continuous fighting across the country, suffering from various problems including significant death and destruction of property.
The RCSS issued its lament in an announcement accompanying the Shan ethnic armed group’s biannual meeting on Monday at its headquarters in Loi Tai Leng, southern Shan State.
The RCSS said it was saddened that children, women and the elderly are among those suffering most due to the destruction, casualties and displacement as a result of clashes in northern Shan State.
The RCSS urges relevant organisations to meet face-to-face and discuss and find solutions for a ceasefire and the construction of a federal, democratic union.
The RCSS said that it would work to promote and safeguard peace and stability in southern Shan State, together with the people.
The RCSS/SSA was founded by 1996 and is a signatory to the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), which Myanmar’s military regime continues to hold up as the key to the ongoing armed uprising against its coup and rule.
